Felicitaciones a los nuevos IEEE Senior Member
Tres (3) de nuestros miembros profesionales IEEE han sido reconocidos por el Comité de Admisiones y Promociones del IEEE, el pasado 15 de marzo en la ciudad de West Palm Beach, FL, USA como IEEE Senior Member, gracias a sus sobresalientes desempeños profesionales.
Ing. Maria Elena Gómez PhD.
Maria Elena Gómez, IEEE Senior Member 2014. Física y magíster en ciencias física de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Obtuvo su titulo de doctorado en ciencias - física en la Universidad del Valle. Fue directora del programa de física y de la sección de experimentos físicos de la Universidad del Valle. Ha servido como par académico en el ministerio de educación en Colciencias y en FONDECYT-Chile.
En 1990 recibio el premio al Profesor Distinguido de la Universidad del Valle, en 1995 fue categorizada como Investigador Categoria-C, por la Fundacion Colombiana de Ciencias (Colciencias) y en el 2010 ganó el Premio Nacional al Mérito Científico por ACAC: Academia Colombiana de Ciencias Físicas Exactas y Naturales.
Su contribución intelectual ha sido importante, destacándose la realización de mas de 8 investigaciones en el área de materiales, mas de 59 publicaciones en revistas científicas, ha dirigido mas de 20 tesis de posgrados y más de 40 trabajos de investigación presentados en conferencias nacionales e internacionales.
Actualmente Maria Elena Gómez se desempeña como docente de tiempo completo de la Universidad del Valle.
Ing. Carlos Eduardo Maldonado Ph.D
Carlos Eduardo Maldonado. IEEE Senior Member 2014, es Ph.D. en Filosofía por la K.U.Leuven (Bélgica), Post-doctorado como Visiting Scholar en la Universidad de Pittsburgh (EE.UU); Postdoctorado como Visiting Research Professor en la Catholic University of America (Washington, D.C.), Academic Visitor, Facultad de Filosofía, Universidad de Cambridge (Inglaterra). Actualmente es profesor titular de la Universidad del Rosario.
Ha sido reconocido con la “Distinción al Mérito”, por la Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, Lima, Perú, por sus contribuciones a la filosofía y a la complejidad (2008). Premio Portafolio, Mención de Honor Categoría Mejor Docente (2008). “Profesor Distinguido”, por la Universidad del Rosario (2009). Profesor de la Facultad de Ciencia Política y Gobierno de la Universidad del Rosario. Investigador Senior, Colciencias (2014). Socio Honorario del IPCEM (Instituto del Pensamiento Complejo Edgar Morin), (Perú).
Trabaja en ciencias de la complejidad, sistemas no-lineales, lógicas no-clásicas. Autor recientemente, de: Significado e impacto social de las ciencias de la complejidad, Bogotá (2013), ha publicado mas de 260 artículos de complejidad en las más importantes revistas y eventos de complejidad en el mundo: Complexity (Wiley), Springer Verlag, Proceedings de la International Conference on Complex Systems.
Ing. Cesar D. Guerrero Ph.D
Cesar D. Guerrero recibió su M.S. Licenciado en Ciencias de la Computación en 2002 y su M.S. grado en Ingeniería Informática en 2007. En 2009 obtuvo su doctorado en Ciencias de la Computación e Ingeniería de la Universidad del Sur de Florida .
Dr. Guerrero es becario Fulbright y IANAS Fellow de la Academia Nacional Americana de Ciencias. Ha sido profesor visitante en la Universidad de Stanford (EE.UU.) en 2012 y la Universidad Carlos III (España) en 2013. Su interés de investigación incluye medición de la red y la Educación para la Innovación .
El profesor Guerrero es fundador de la Asociación Colombiana de Gestores de la Innovación (CIMA), miembro del Consejo de Estado para la Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación, el presidente de la Asociación Colombiana de Eruditos estadounidenses (Capítulo Oriental), región de delegado a la Red Nacional de la Academia de Tecnología Avanzada en Colombia, miembro del Comité de Asesoramiento Fulbright Colombia y vicepresidente asociado para la Educación de Postgrado del Consorcio Latinoamericano y del Caribe de Instituciones de Ingeniería (LACCEI). Se ha desempeñado como miembro del Comité Técnico del Programa de varias revistas, incluyendo redes de computadoras y las Comunicaciones, tanto revistas Elsevier Science.
Publicó el libro: Available Bandwidth Estimation: A Hidden Markov Model Approach, también ha publicado 3 artículos en revistas científicas, 16 trabajos de investigación en conferencias nacionales e internacionales, 3 reportes técnicos y 20 posters.
Cesar D. Guerrero actualmente es profesor en la Universidad Autónoma de Bucaramanga (UNAB) en Colombia y actual Director del Centro de Investigación en Ingeniería y Organizaciones .
