Dr. habil. Vadim Azhmyakov was born in Ufa, Russia in 1968.
In June 1989 he has graduated (Dipl. Eng. in Aerospace Engineering) from Department of Mechanical Engineering the Bauman Moscow Technical State University. From August 1989 to November 1990 he was working as a Software Developer in the Rockets Construction Office (Reutov, region near Moscow, Russia). From November 1991 until October 1994 he occupied a position as a Scientific Assistant at the Institute of Control Sciences the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow, Russia.1994 he has received a Ph.D. degree in Applied Mathematics from Institute of Control Sciences the Russian Academy of Science (Moscow). Resulting from the several years of professional experience in Germany (University of Bayreuth, University of Magdeburg, University of Greifswald and Technical University of Berlin) V. Azhmyakov has completed his Habilitation (the Postdoc thesis) in Applied Mathematics (2006, University of Greifswald, Germany). From October 1996 until April 1999 Dr. V. Azhmyakov was an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Mathematical Statistics, University of Bayreuth (Germany). Afterwards, from April 1999 to April 2005, he had an Assistant Professor position at the Faculty of Numerical Analysis the University of Greifswald in Germany. From June 2005 until May 2006 he worked as a Senior Researcher at the Department of Electrical Engineering the University of Magdeburg (Germany) and since March 2006 until July 2007 he has continued to work in the same research group at the Department of Electrical Engineering the Technical University of Berlin (Germany). From July 2007 until May 2013 Dr. V. Azhmyakov was a Research Professor at the Mexican Center for Research and Advanced Studies CINVESTAV in Mexico City (Mexico) and from May 2013 until February 2014 he was worked as a Senior Expert in Optimization at the company Younicos AG located in Techno Park Berlin – Adlershof (Berlin, Germany).
Since February 2014 Dr. V. Azhmyakov is a full Professor of the University of Medellin, Department of Basic Sciences in Medellin, Republic of Colombia. He is also a Vice Chair of the IFAC TC 2.4 “Optimal Control”. His research interests include optimal control, numeric methods, control engineering and systems theory. Specifically Dr. V. Azhmyakov has a long-time professional experience in the field of engineering optimization of hybrid and switched dynamic systems. Dr. V. Azhmyakov was involved as Associate Editor in several scientific journals and was Committees member of many professional IEEE / IFAC conferences. He is an author of more than 90 research papers, has directed 15 Master and PhD students in Germany, Mexico and Colombia. Dr. V. Azhmyakov has also conducted some theoretic and applied research projects in countries mentioned above. He is a member of three IFAC Technical Committees and an IEEE Senior Member. Dr. V. Azhmyakov was an Invited Lecturer in several Universities of USA, Canada, Germany, Russia, Poland, Estonia, Mexico and Colombia. He was awarded with the Max Planck, CONACYT (Mexican) and some international professional foundations.
Ing. Javier Enrique Arévalo Peña M.Sc.
Javier Enrique Arévalo Peña, IEEE Senior Member 2016, es Ingeniero Electrónico y Especialista en Telecomunicaciones Móviles de la Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas y Magíster en Ingeniería de Telecomunicaciones de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Sus áreas de interés son: las redes móviles de próxima generación, los sistemas multiantena y los modelos de radio propagación, las comunicaciones digitales, las redes de microondas, además de la gestión del espectro radioeléctrico.
El ingeniero Arévalo ha estado vinculado como investigador y docente en varias instituciones de educación superior, entre las cuales están la Universidad Nacional de Colombia, la Universidad de La Salle, la Universidad Manuela Beltrán, la Universidad ECCI, la Universidad Católica de Colombia, la Corporación Universitaria Unitec, la Fundación Universitaria Los Libertadores y la Fundación Universitaria UNINPAHU. Actualmente, se desempeña como profesor de planta tiempo completo del Programa de Ingeniería Electrónica y coordinador de la Especialización en Telecomunicaciones en la Fundación Universidad Autónoma de Colombia - FUAC. Adicionalmente, participa como asesor del capítulo técnico de comunicaciones y profesor consejero de la rama estudiantil IEEE – FUAC.
Ocupó el tercer puesto en los premios James Maxwell 2014 organizados por la Agencia Nacional del Espectro – ANE y ha recibido distinciones por su labor investigativa y académica. También, ha participado como revisor de trabajos para eventos y publicaciones a nivel nacional e internacional, así como evaluador de proyectos e informes de investigación para instituciones y universidades colombianas.
Hasta el momento, el ingeniero Arévalo ha publicado 1 libro de investigación y 15 artículos en revistas especializadas. También, ha presentado cerca de 30 trabajos en ponencias en congresos nacionales e internacionales, dirigido más de 50 trabajos de grado de pregrado y registrado 18 productos de software.
