IEEE Senior Members 2017
Cuatro (4) de los miembros profesionales más sobresalientes de IEEE Sección Colombia, durante el año 2017 han sido distinguidos con la categoría IEEE Senior Member, de acuerdo con el Panel de Revisión de Admisiones y Promociones de IEEE.
Miguel Alfonso Altuve Paredes obtuvo el grado de Doctor en Tratamiento de Señales y Telecomunicaciones de la Universidad de Rennes 1, Francia, en el año 2011, el grado de Magíster en Ingeniería Electrónica de la Universidad Simón Bolívar, Caracas, Venezuela, en el año 2006, y el título de Ingeniero Electrónico mención Comunicaciones de la Universidad Nacional Experimental Politécnica de la Fuerza Armada, Maracay, Venezuela, en el año 2002. Desde el año 2005 hasta el año 2014 se desempeñó como Profesor Agregado del Departamento de Tecnología Industrial de la Universidad Simón Bolívar sede del Litoral, Venezuela, y desde enero de 2015 se desempeña como Profesor Asociado de la Facultad de Ingeniería Electrónica de la Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana seccional Bucaramanga. Además, ha ocupado varios cargos administrativos tales como el de Coordinador de la Maestría en Ingeniería Electrónica, Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana seccional Bucaramanga desde agosto de 2016, de noviembre de 2012 a diciembre de 2014 fue Coordinador de Investigación y Desarrollo en el área Ciencias Básicas y Tecnologías, Universidad Simón Bolívar, Venezuela, y de noviembre de 2011 a octubre de 2012 fue Coordinador de Tecnología Eléctrica y Electrónica, Universidad Simón Bolívar, Venezuela.
Las actividades de docencia del Dr. Altuve se enfocan en el procesamiento digital de señales e imágenes, procesamiento de señales biomédicas, señales y sistemas, bioelectricidad, circuitos eléctricos y electrónicos, y comunicaciones analógica y digital, mientras que sus actividades de investigación tienen como objetivo la extracción de información clínicamente significativa oculta en señales fisiológicas usando técnicas de procesamiento digital de señales así como la detección y diagnóstico de patologías utilizando técnicas de aprendizaje automático con el fin de apoyar al médico en la toma de decisiones. Ha contribuido en el campo de la bioingeniería con varios artículos científicos en revistas y en conferencias nacionales e internacionales, entre las cuales 31 se encuentran indexadas en Scopus, en la participación en comités de organización de congresos, como el de General Chair del XXI Symposium on Signal Processing, Images and Artificial Vision (STSIVA 2016), y como comité científico de congresos y revisor de revistas tales como IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics, Medical and Biological Engineering and Computing, Digital Signal Processing, Computers in Biology and Medicine.
El Dr. Altuve es reconocido por COLCIENCIAS como Investigador Asociado y obtuvo el reconocimiento “Geographic Finalist: Latin America, in the EMBS Student Paper Competition” otorgado por la sociedad IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, en New York, EE.UU, en el año 2006.
Magister, Especialista e Ingeniero de Telecomunicaciones, con experiencia en gerencia de proyectos, preventa y diseño de servicios de Tecnologías de Información y Comunicación, con grandes aptitudes de liderazgo, trabajo en equipo, investigación e innovación, docencia Universitaria y realización de publicaciones especializadas de temas relacionados con Tecnologías de Información y Comunicación.
Ing. Alvaro David Orjuela Cañon PhD
Doctor en ingeniería eléctrica, en el área de Inteligencia Computacional con énfasis en aplicaciones en Salud, y magíster en ciencias en ingeniería eléctrica en el área de Electrónica, sub-área de Procesamiento Digital de Señales de la Universidad Federal de Rio de Janeiro - COPPE. Estuvo vinculado también al Centro de Pesquisa en Energía Eléctrica (CEPEL) en Brasil, trabajando en proyectos de monitoreo de carga eléctrica residencial. Es miembro voluntario de IEEE desde hace 17 años, donde comenzó como miembro estudiante, siendo vicepresidente de la rama estudiantil IEEE UD y voluntario en la rama IEEE UFRJ en Brasil. Posteriormente, como miembro profesional, se ha desempeñado como presidente del capítulo profesional IEEE de Educación (IEEE EdSoc) del Consejo Brasil y actualmente es el presidente del capítulo profesional IEEE de la Sociedad de Inteligencia Computacional (IEEE CIS Colombia). Tiene más de 7 años en experiencia en proyectos de investigación, siendo categorizado por Colciencias como investigador asociado en 2016. Actualmente es profesor asociado de la Universidad Antonio Nariño y ha impartido clases en la Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas y la Fundación Universidad Autónoma de Colombia.
Sus intereses están en los temas de inteligencia computacional, procesamiento de señales eléctricas y biológicas e ingeniería biomédica, donde hasta la fecha ha publicado más de 30 artículos en revistas y conferencias nacionales e internacionales especializadas.
Ing. Sergio Raul Rivera Rodríguez PhD
Sergio es profesor e investigador del departamento de Ingeniería Eléctrica y Electrónica de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia desde agosto del 2014. Durante el 2013 y 2014 fue Postdoctorado Asociado en el MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), trabajando en el laboratorio de Investigación en Mecatrónica (MRL-MIT Mechatronics Research Laboratory), principalmente en investigaciones relacionadas a los sistemas de potencia con alta penetración de energías renovables y microredes. Parte del 2014 fue Postdoctoral Fellow en el MIST (Masdar Institute of Science and Technology) en Emiratos Arabes Unidos. Del 2007 al 2013 trabajó para General Motors en el área de Ingeniería de Manufactura, en el mismo periodo dictaba cátedra de sistemas de potencia y confiabilidad en la Universidad Distrital Francisco Jose de Caldas. Es Doctor en Ingeniería Eléctrica del Instituto de Energía Eléctrica de la Universidad Nacional de San Juan y Especialista en Ingeniería Eléctrica con énfasis en Sistemas de Distribución e Ingeniero Electricista de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia.
Sus principales líneas de investigación son la optimización de la operación y planificación de sistemas de potencia, energías renovables y optimización estocástica. Constantemente busca oportunidades de colaboración para aplicación de códigos de optimización heurística a diferentes problemas de optimización.
