Resultados de elecciones del capitulo del procesamiento de señales (SPS)
El Comité de Nominaciones y Elecciones tiene el gusto de anunciar que luego de realizado el proceso para la elección de Presidente y Vicepresidente del Capítulo de Procesamiento de Señales (SPS), el PhD Henry Arguello Fuentes fue elegido como presidente y el PhD. Hernán Darío Benítez Restrepo fue elegido como vicepresidente para el periodo 2018 - 2019.
Henry Arguello is a Professor of the Systems Engineering Department at Universidad Industrial de Santander, Colombia. He received the Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Delaware in 2013 and the Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Universidad Industrial de Santander in 2003. He has been recognized as an IEEE Senior member. He is a member of the IEEE Computational Imaging Special Interest Group, where he currently serves as chair of the social media/communications subcommittee. His research interest includes statistical signal processing, high dimensional signal coding and processing, optical and computational imaging, optical coded aperture design, compressed sensing, hyperspectral imaging and numerical optimization using stochastic algorithms. Some of his most significant achievements include: U.S. Patent 20140374573 A1, “Spectral imaging sensors and methods”; a book chapter in the Wiley encyclopedia of Electrical and Electronics Engineering; above 60 publications on renowned scientific journals including IEEE Signal Processing Magazine, IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, Journal of the Optical Society of America A, Applied Optics, Optics Express, and several Colombian journals. In addition, his work has been published in over 90 conference papers on international scientific events.
CANDIDATO A VICEPRESIDENTE
Hernan Dario Benitez Restrepo received his undergraduate degree in Electronic Engineering, his Dr. Eng. degree in Electronic Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Sede Cali and Universidad del Valle , in 2002 and 2008, respectively. Since February 2010 he is adjunct professor at the Laboratory of Computer Vision and Systems of Université Laval, Québec City. Since January 2008, he has been with the Department of Electronics and Computing at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Sede Cali. In 2011, he received a Merit scholarship for short-term research from Ministére de l’Education, du Québec to pursue research on infrared vision. Dr Benitez is IEEE Senior member since 2014 and Chair of Colombia’s IEEE Signal Processing Chapter since 2012 until 2016. He is member of the scientific editorial board of the Quantitative Infrared Thermography Journal since 2014. His main research interests encompass image and video quality assessment, infrared vision, and digital signal processing.
